R:12 Christianity
Encountering Israel in the Old Testament times, one cannot do away with the sacrificial system in the big frame of their religious picture. Every time someone, or the people, sins – one needs to kill a sheep or pigeons to offer to God for the appeasement of His intended wrath. The animal is killed and placed on the altar to be burned; the smoke created by such is thought of as perfume in the nostrils of God. Propitiation is simply satisfying God by killing a scapegoat, substituting the death of an innocent beast instead of the sinner. In the end, ...

God is Sovereign
Everyday we are confronted with difficult situations that we know don’t have easy answers. We are told that despite of the reality we see around us , God is in control, that God’s reasons for allowing these ugly things are beyond us and that we need to just believe and trust God.
Yes, we know that these answers are all true yet they do not always ease the pain of our hearts. But we need to learn as difficult as it may be to accept that God is sovereign. He doesn’t need to explain to us why He allowed such a thing to happen. He has the right to everything. He owes us nothing.
Yet, His love for us is perfect! His grace and love are because of His Son Jesus who died on the cross and rose again for our sins. It is because of Jesus and only because of Jesus! It is not that we deserve it; it is not of who we are but because of who He is.
According to Thomas A Vaughn in his book, Spiritual Seasons, “God is the controller of all things, and we are to live our lives in the recognition that He has a specific time, plan and purpose for every one of our life experiences and accomplishments.”
When things get real tough this week, just hang on tight! God is sovereign! He is worthy of our trust and He will never let us down. Have a blessed week ahead of you!
Isaiah 46:10, “Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, My purpose will be established, and I willaccomplish all My good pleasure;”
